Principle of operation of the magic movie® Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals (PDLCs)
Without electricity, liquid crystal molecules (micro-droplets) are disordered.
This prevents light from penetrating the film, making it opaque.
When electric current is applied to the film, the liquid crystal molecules are forced into alignment, making it transparent.
